I will overwhelm 'credible combatant' Jake Paul - Joshua

Anthony Joshua and Jake Paul face-off

The British boxer will face Jake Paul in an eight round fight which will be streamed live on Netflix.

Briton Joshua stated he will "overwhelm entirely" the American and "break" the American as the pair met personally to promote the upcoming bout.

Former two-time world heavyweight champion Joshua faces YouTuber-turned-boxer Paul - in what is, on paper, a huge disparity - at Miami's Kaseya Center on December 19th.

Fighter's Attitude

"I'm going to injure his face and hurt his body. My goal is to show I'm the better fighter," Joshua, 35 years old, said.

"I plan to overwhelm him. That's the boxer's mindset.

"I intend to really want to injure him. That's what I want to do."

Respectful Interaction

In spite of such comments, a calm Anthony Joshua and social media star Paul - normally known for his showmanship - shared friendly words and kept it respectful with each other.

Jake Paul instead attacked ex Joshua's opponent Francis Ngannou and labeled him "not serious" after Ngannou declined a bout proposal.

Targeting Fury

Joshua, at the same time, targeted UK rival Fury - and rejected a million-pound wager 'Tyson Fury' says he will place on a Paul victory.

"Jake Paul is better than Tyson Fury - he showed up," Joshua stated.

"I respect him for that."

Legitimate Fighter

In spite of stating he plans to damage his opponent, Anthony Joshua chose not to comment unfavorably about his rival's fighting skills.

"Jake Paul is a legitimate boxer," he remarked.

Paul's Background

Jake Paul - who originally gained popularity on the television network - has mainly fought mixed martial artists or declining opponents since turning professional.

He was defeated by Briton Fury in 2023.

Commercial Success

However, the novice continues to be one of boxing's greatest money-making draws, regularly earning huge earnings.

Prediction and Confidence

The 28 year old predicted a stoppage in round four or five and claimed he would derail the long-awaited Fury-Joshua bout, which is apparently under discussion for 2026.

"It's going to be myself against Tyson Fury next year," Jake Paul said.

Physical Difference

As Joshua and Paul engaged in the traditional confrontation, with their size difference evident, it drove home just how improbable this entire matchup is - and how astonishing it is that the match is actually going ahead.
