Ever since the premiere of Campaign 4, recently appointed game master Brennan Mulligan has kept fans guessing with extensive world-building, a diverse cast of characters, and a thrilling plot showcasing angels, demons, and sinister influences expanding in power within Dol-Makjar.
Heads-up: Revealing details for the latest installment of Campaign 4 follow below.
The Combat-Oriented Party Revealed
Episode 3 concluded with a huge suspense moment and revealed the first table of characters who will split off from the central cast to embark on their independent quest, apart from the other two tables.
The combat-focused team features Teor (brought to life by Travis Willingham), the agile character (the talented performer), the strong-willed figure (Whitney Moore), the cleric (Sam Riegel), and the mysterious adventurer (Robbie).
Dividing the Cast
With 13 cast members, it was obvious from the beginning that maintaining everyone at one table would be unfeasible.
That’s why, the first four episodes of this story serve as an Introduction, intertwining the personal journeys before branching into three separate parties: Warriors, Schemers, and Questers.
The Nature of the Warrior Group
Per the Dungeon Master, the combat-focused party is for players who are drawn to a traditionally charged fight-heavy narrative style where peaceful solutions are few and far between.
Upon first impression, characters like the reluctant priest Wicander Halovar might seem mismatched, but the actions of the third episode make it clear why these particular heroes are perfectly fit for the warrior group.
Reasons to Leave
First, the team knows exactly where to proceed after a intense opening clash with The Crow Keepers.
An old friend of Thjazi—whose demise initiated the story’s plot—manipulated the enemy for his selfish purposes, breaking into the hidden lair, assaulting Thimble, and swiping all the powerful objects to auction.
Casimir then settled his debts and fled to a Halovar stronghouse in Gormalay, Timmony, north of the city, with Cyd close behind.
Individual Reasons
Moreover, each character has a personal reason to depart the urban setting:
- The agile hero, as the close ally and best friend, seeks revenge.
- Kattigan has experience in the region and warns that it is a dangerous location.
- The warrior and Wicander, having defied his house’s orders to kill Teor and instead rescued him, have nowhere else to go.
- But, their position as key figures in House Halovar could help the group access locations they normally couldn’t.
- Furthermore, The grateful character vowed a unbreakable promise to The savior for his rescue and will now follow him wherever.
Wanted and Hunted
In addition, all of them are hunted by the authorities that govern the city for a variety of reasons, making remaining behind too risky:
- The rogue and Kattigan are recognized lawbreakers.
- The warrior and The cleric turned against the powerful family and the horde of evil beings they are allied with.
- The fighter is targeted for elimination by House Halovar.
This means them few options but to travel to the remote area in search of the traitor.
Future Episodes
Based on the latest episode’s Cooldown, we find out that the warrior group will not appear in the upcoming installment, leaving the other eight cast members to form the Seekers and Strategists parties.
Viewers can look forward to discovering which adventurers will be where in the season’s final introductory chapter, available to watch on next week.
